The Evolution Of Love - Part I ( The School Boy in Love)

I started writing this post a month ago during my vacation, but could never complete it. So please read it with a -“Man this guy was pretty bored while writing this post” attitude so that you can relate to it.

Since I am too lazy to write down the whole thing in one single post, ill split the posts into three parts so that you will enjoy it reading and I buy some time to write down the remaining parts. So this post officially shall be my first Trilogy(ahh!! Pompous me!!)

It’s been a boring couple of weeks with joblessness at its peak, there is this constant feeling that I am fighting off- that I am bound to do something better and bigger in my life than warming my cosy bed and couch (Ahhh..!!! “Couch potato” makes so much sense now). A life of a jobless guy with a job is a test on one’s endurance of boredom.

Amongst all this boredom, I thought I would catch up with some reading, and when you are bored you seriously don’t want to read the intellectual stuff, you are happy reading the cheesy, frothy, easy on your vocabulary kind of book- if I may put so “Chetan Bhagat”ish book. Thus I lay my hands on the “Nation’s Bestseller”- I Too Had A Love Story. This is surely one of those books which shall make every female kind go “Awwww..” followed by some tears and emotional outburst-with a common question both the reader and the protagonist in the novel ask almighty – “Why her of all people??!” But that’s life for us, time is the best healer and the show goes on-last known he released a sequel named- “Can Love Happen Twice”. (Uhh…Double Standards??! Any one??!)

What I liked about the novel was the innocence with which he captured the finer details of the feeling of being in love for the first time. Then a thought just struck me- the fact that love is so different in different stages of a man’s life. It ranges from a school-boy’ish puppy love which is filled with innocence and naivety at its best, to a mature love involving commitment and other extreme emotions. Since I can give you only the male perspective of the story, I try to put words to the “Evolution of Love” seen from a boy to a man’s perspective.

This is the stage when people discover the feeling of love, till then the only people you loved are your parents, siblings (not really), pets, toys and all other random stuff. All this till a certain age, when a certain chapter in the biology book is taught, behind all those sniggers and smirks, you realise that the world is a completely different place. Also, the greatest mystery in your life till that date is solved-you get a convincing answer to that innocent question little kids always asked their parents-“How did I come into this world?”

The crush of yours becomes an important aspect of your life, then there starts an unending saga of sharing of lunch boxes, asking your mum to cook that special item for lunch (yep…the one which she likes the most :D), parking your cycle besides hers, faking illness so that you can be absent and hence giving you a very valid reason of going to her place for “copying notes”, giving her the extra chocolate or the special chocolate on your birthday, making that visit to the “Archies Gallery” to buy her the ”Happy Birthday” card and going back home and dab generous amounts of your mum’s perfume making sure her room wouldn’t need a room freshener when the card is opened, picking up a fight with the school bully so that you are a man in front of her and the story of impressing a girl starts from this stage and till the further stages all man does is impress the fairer sex, some people have to put an effort and some… just learn the guitar! ;)

Such was the innocence and naivety, you didn’t know a word called expectation existed and so you never fought over trivial things. Then comes the transition phase where you are about to get to the college phase and you realise that puppy love is passé and a new colourful life is awaiting the other side of the school.

The song which first comes onto your mind is the evergreen Pehla Nasha song, but I love the remix version of it because so it so beautifully encapsulates the puppy love!

Pehla Nasha Remix

Meanwhile:
The Devil Inside You: That school love of yours…!! Is she joining the same college as yours??
Me: She is..
The Devil Inside You: She is..!!???? Ohhhhhh…so you got a love story going! So..now you are the committed guy who cant make a pass on the other good looking girls…Ahh!! Pity you boy!
Me:*Sigh*

An experience called Symbi...

Welcome To Symbi !

This blog is dedicated to the two years of my life in Symbi, in unarguably one of the most beautiful campuses on earth. The experiences, the journey, the learning’s and the unlearning.

In another week it will be all over, this place when I first came down two years ago was the most beautiful of campuses where dreams are woven, friends are made and expectations from them by default, and primarily we are here to LEARN-both academics and importantly the nitty grit ties of a journey called life. But strangely at the end of two years, I am pretty much convinced that this place has mind of its own. Like the heroine in those cheap Ramsay brother’s horror movies, who is the beautiful eye candy in the day and the ugly looking, heavily make up laden devil by the night, this place for me is that-with a dual persona. As they say a picture speaks a thousand words (thanks and due credit to the original photographer to capture it) this picture of the main gate encapsulates my point very beautifully, the main gate which opens out to the village of “knowledge” - brimming with life and loads of positive energy in the daylight, suddenly gets this mystical, haunted quality like it’s a snapshot taken out of a horror movie’s scene once its night.
From no where an entrance to the "Knowledge Village"-Credit to original photographer
Symbi at night..

Like the yin and yang, everything here is divided here,-SIBM/MC-SITM, Marketing-Systems, X committee-Y committee, North Indian-South Indian, X Group-Y Group .As pleasing it is at the surface, the more messier and divided it is deep down inside. No wonder the people too start imbibing from the place and end up like it. I am not sure if it’s the place that defines the people or the people that define the place, probably happens both ways.
Just like all dreams woven here do not turn into reality, not all friends made stick around till the end, it usually happens that they don’t meet your expectations(I know we all hate that word…don’t we? ) and most importantly- not necessarily you end up learning in this place, for me personally this place was more about unlearning than learning. I guess, for learning new things you will have to unlearn all the previous experiences and knowledge. This place has made me wiser in many respects, but at the same time made me look equally dumb many a times making me constantly realise that life is an one unending quest for learning, I personally ended up learning stuff from people whom I personally never felt I could take anything from considering their initial interactions with me (no wonder people carry a bad first impression of me as a snobby guy with an attitude).

What will I miss from this place?

I’ll surely miss the craziness of the place lots of crazy things being done these two years(lets not get into the finer details :D), ill miss Pune city-surely in my list of places where I want to settle down, ill miss the food from here-haven’t seen a place which is so diverse in terms of food from south Indian to continental you get it all, ill miss those 40 mins bus rides from the shutter island to the city where all you did was thinking and introspect, the beautiful sunset and realising the fact that something so spectacularly beautiful is so often missed by us and is taken for granted, ill miss people who have made me explore my varied facets-from the  16 yr old teenager in me who is busy “making a database” to the completely opposite 35 yr old mature guy in me to whom people look up to when it comes for advice and last but not the least- I will probably miss raising hands every time Dr.Mazumdar (Our founder) asks the audience in front of a distinguished guest on how many students are non Maharashtrians in the audience :D

I thank you everyone, contrary to what you guys think I have learned something from each one of you.The experience called SITM shall be cherished for all the good and the bad reasons.
Well I am not creating a legacy of ending blog posts with Jim Morisson’s poetry, but I am so compelled to do so right now because he so beautifully encapsulates what majority of us feel in the fag end of this journey.

So here it goes….

People are strange when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven when you're down

When you're strange

Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
When you're strange

Decoding Negative Emotions...with Jim Morisson and Chetan Bhagat.

PS: This post is completely self indulgent one, so…if you bored to death, having nothing else to do and have decided to go ahead and read it… your patience would be highly appreciated. So here we go!

Have been planning to write for quite a while…but, seemed to be suffering from a writers block (I knw!! Hw much do I write anyway??!! :D). But yeah, the fact remains I couldn’t come up with a funny thought or a thought which provoked me into asking questions and then driving me mad to find the answers. Well, that is until I read Chetan Bhagat-The Paperback king’s latest “best seller” – Revolution 2020 and simultaneously another thing happened to me, I have rediscovered Jim Morisson’s (The Door’s rather..) music. Yup that’s how interesting a B-School grad’s life gets in the final semester of his course. You tend to rediscover already discovered things, but initially when you discovered them, your naïve soul devoid of experiences never related to it. But, when the same naïve mind is made to pass through experiences-some negative, some positive, suddenly these rediscovered stuff start making sense to you, you think “Ahhhh….That’s me that they are talking about in their songs (or stories)!!!”
There are some people whom you just love to hate…or rather...just hate to love! Jim and Chetan are just those kind. I know..I am comparing chalk and cheese here, on one hand we have the always stoned/high, rebellious, larger than life rockstar, who actually is a poet par excellence(according to me at least) and the other is IIM, IIT  pass-out, investment banker turned author who looks like a typical mumma’s boy(yeah you know the kind..who fills “My Fav Drink:” column on school slam books with” MILK”!!) But they do have something in common, something which makes them special…something which made them successful, and so begins my quest to finding an answer to he question..

What is it that makes them so special?

One thing that strikes immediately to your mind is their intelligence; both of them are superiorly intellectual human beings with a superb eye for finer details with a complex thought process. Their observations about the world are so enviable and you often the question-“How come you didn’t see what they did so effortlessly?”
To quote an example, if you happen to listen to the song- “Light My Fire” by The Doors, you will realize(if you have dwelled deep enough) that the opening verse is so simple and free flowing positive emotion talking about igniting passion and love.

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher

Then comes the second verse..

The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love becomes a funeral pyre

Jim Morisson
The verse suddenly jumps to a negative emotion; it makes a transition from talking about love to something so dark like death. The vocabulary suddenly becomes sophisticated; the words seem to have a mind of their own. It seems like it came from a person who has gone through a lot of negativity in ones life.
No prizes for guessing, the verses were written by two different people. The opening verse was written by Robby Krieger, the guitarist of The Doors. Whereas, the second verse was written by Jim himself, and that explains the contrast in the thought process of a common man and a drunk genius (aint’ glorifying drinking in any manner). This contrast hopefully establishes my point.

Chetan Bhagat

Chetan Bhagat on the other hand presents a complex thought in the most simplest of manner. His wisecracks and cheeky one liners are surely a derivative of his keen observational skills. His understanding of the female psyche too is exceptional. In fact I think he is hiding another degree apart from the IIT and IIM, that of PhD in Women’s Psychology. He surely knows the female kind inside out; being his wife should be quite intimidating.

The other most striking common factor is that both talk and glorify negative emotions. Their stories and songs celebrate the underdog in everyone, making it so relatable to the common masses. The difference lies in that Jim appeals to the intellectual loser and Chetan to the common loser found in almost everyone. Common…who hasn’t lost in love, who hasn’t sacrificed their happiness in order to see someone else happy, who hasn’t worn the mask of happiness when your heart just reeks of sorrow….Who hasn’t???!  This is a common expression and by writing about it these guys just are able to relate to it to a wide range of audiences and the minute you are able to relate to it, it stays on with you. The Indian audiences have never rejected anything which celebrates sadness, be it Rajnikanth in his movies or Himesh Reshammiya’s melancholy filled songs and many more are standing examples of my point. You would love to hate them but you just cant help relate to what they intend.
So I guess there ends my quest to finding answers, so if you are a budding author you know what you need to do to click with the modern India, just write a story where the morally correct protagonist loses in love and is portrayed as an underdog. If he gets the girls at the end of the story then it’s a happy ending which still means it’s not completely negative. If he doesn’t get the girl, then you my friend have got yourself a new “bestseller” (read: Revolution 2020).
So I guess this is the end…Hopefully the next one will be fluffier and funnier than this one...Now that I have thrown in so much of Jim Morisson, you can take him one last time….

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end

Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again

Now that you are through with the journey, your patience is highly appreciated and so will be your comments...

Ok..So its been an year...No updates..the best possible reason I could come up with would be...uhh....studies kept me busy, though I dont really have nething which could vouch for the genuinity of that statement. In retrospect..not even marks. Well, other possible reason i could give that blogspot is blocked in the hostel till 12 in the midnight, but for a guy who never sleeps before 3 in the night this cannot be an excuse. So...I guess it just boils down to one thing...
Its just plain laziness!!! :)

I jus realized its been a while that i have updated my blog when my senior(and a super inspiration to blog) Deepali commented to write more often. So Deepali(should i call u didi nw..u knw.. ur all married nd stuff nw :p ) here it goes!

This time I'll try to be more in touch with my masculine side of my thoughts...So much for bein accused that my blogs are too feminine ;) Before I begin to pen down (or rather type down..hail internet!!) my thoughts a statutory warning:

"What I am writing does not in any manner resemble what I am goin through in my personal life. Though, there are references to some of my frnds directly or indirectly, no apologies for dem...jus feel lucky dt ur part of dis blog-a history in making :p "

So..this thought struck me, when I heard these two break up songs which were so completely in contrast with each other. It kinda struck me how well guys react to their break up. Some sit and brood, some take to alcohol, some just say...WTF..I was nvr serious abt her(Oh! Yeah??When you are giftin a solitaire(ok..a diamond..happy!! i jus realised this is a bracket within a bracket..complicated story telling format u c :D) to the girl, you are not really serious..Are you??), there are some just smile for the whole world but cry and bleed from inside (unlike girls, we guys cant even talk to other guys about a breakup, bcoz all d guy in distress would get is some mocking, beer and if ur frnds are real gems, u might even end up wakin up d next morning with a woman, twice your age, smellin all jasminyy, the services ofcourse were duly sponsored by contri from your friends and before you assume stuff..no...it didnt happen to me..!!), and some ofcourse belong to the playboy category who make sure that they have their backs covered, ya you you know them right....the Seeta nahi tho Geeta types.

Anyway, getting back to the point. So I hear these songs and try to empathize with the song writers-Bilal & Amitabh Bhatacharya(the guy who wrote Dev.D songs)in this case(ya, they are the real heroes, d fake heroes just lip synch to their words) emotions. After all I am from that school of thought that until and unless you havent experienced something, you cant really write or talk about it.

The first song I heard is this one from Bilal Khan from the Coke studio album.

In this song, the guy after a breakup is so optimistic about the future. "D evenings bein same but u arent around, I dont care". He goes a step further and wishes for the girls well being even if she's someone elses' now. A streak of positivity is running throughout song even if the ethos of d song is filled with masked sadness, the guy is so optimistic about the future, add to it...Bilal's voice has the right mix of sadness and joy which makes sure that d song lingers around the grey area..neither sad nor a happy one. Now thats life to me...Whenever you fall, dust your pants and get going. So introducing you ...to the the uber cool 'let her go..if shes happy' type of boyfriend who manages to irks the girls ego(if i may say so..dont call me a male chauvinist..common isnt it a fact, every girl does want the guy to go down his knees to stop her from breaking up from him..! )

The second song is from our very own bollywood-Delhi Belly's Jaa Chudail..

One awesome song to be seen on the big screen...Everything about the song is so right, from Vir Das's entry to his a** smacking gig and ofcourse how can you forget the Sitar on the Fire routine(Farah Khan, take a bow, instead of directing those no-brainers, why dont you go back to choreographing such awesome songs). The song celebrates the break up, he makes the girl feel miserable owing all his myseries to the b***h whom he so hates now. Break up celebrated in a glorified way for sure..I am sure..its every guys fantasy to sing this song to his ex..Especially the last verse, I so like it:

"Phool vool kuch nahi
Sada hua aalo hai tu
You know what you are
Hoor nahi pari nahi
Jungli ek bhaloo hai tu
Arey ha ha ha
Go to hell"

Awesomness to d core..from a beautiful slim angel in white to an ugly fat wild bear in black..Hw cld some one come up wit smthng like dt..Nd here I think..I am creative..because... I blog once an year..Phrrrrrr to me :p

So...all the guys reading this(I knw there will be two of them for sure..hope der r more after this post), what do you wanna sing after your breakup??!

And all the girls reading this(I am sure, you are outnumbering the guys count..bt ill still tk d risk of gettin dis published) what do you wanna b singed to?All i wd say is be good to your boyfriends, you surely prefer being called a pari over a junglee baloo..dont you?!

Chao for now, hoping the next update wont take an year :)

PS:No animal/human was hurt or was undergoing any type of post breakup stress while this blog was being written.

Hello folks...

Well its been a roller coaster ride past couple of weeks, one moment up, the next moment down. The one thing i have started believing is that having a smile and getting it on others faces makes you forget everything...sounds simple ehh!!
Well now that we are done with the customary sentimental and emotionally draining intro lines, lets get to the fun part......
Watched Kartik calling kartik the other day..well not a great movie but surely a well made movie. It sure had its moments and one such moment was where the "Safe" guy Farhan Akthar is about to do stuff which an unsafe guy wd do to Deepika Padukone..well in midst of all these things Mr.Safe gets the table lamp closer and Deepika ofcourse is bemused and asks him what hes upto? Probably she thought our Mr.Safe had left his contacts at home but naaaaa...Our Faru baba comes with a dhaasu line when u least expected..and saz.."Mei is lamhe ki Tasveer bana raha ho"..I was like wohooo..from Mr.Safe to Mr.Cool..smooth transition must say.And that very line inspires this post.

So here's my list of 5 top most mental images which are still so clear and fresh in my memory..Im so sure everyone must have their own share of the mental images...So here we go!!
The above list is in chronological order...starting from the earliest to the latest...

1) Time:Uhh..shd be d summer of 91.
Place:Bhavans SRKV-K.G-Section
Well this story is surely the funniest among all...Well the characters in it..The wannabe Farah Khan cum teacher a rotund one at that ,the junior dugguu(me ofcourse...),my chamiyaa(my dance partner..) and a bunch of other couples who were put through the torture of dancing in a school annual day function. So the story goes somthin like dis...Mrs. Wannabe Farah Khan takes us all to a empty classroom post lunch mind you..I was pretty engrossed drawing some random stuff...but i was interrupted and was asked to don my duggu avtar..But hey i was in no mood to dance with my chamiyaa..But our rotund wannabe choreographer had some other plans and made us to dance to her tunes..But i was just not interested..nd Junior duggu suddenly transforms to Sunny paaji nd gets all his moves wrong...This was good enough to p**s off my wannabe Fary babes(i sound cool...dont i?) and i ended up bearing the brunt of her anguish..Hey..but hold on!!U dont insult a 5 yr old kid in front of 10 odd other 5 yr old kids...specially when his chamiyaa is arnd..So what do i do to prove that Mrs.Farah khans "naach gaana" is so not happening without me....?
I STAGE A WALKOUT!!
Yes indeed..I just walkaway from the classroom and get back to drawing my standing lines and the sleeping lines..and guess who comes into our room with a bar of chocolate in her hand to get her star back to his performing ways..Ha ha..u guessd it right.Well feels good that at some primitive point in my life i could actually dance..and people used to bribe me for doin it...
image of me walkin out of the room is still oh so fresh in my mind..Huhh!! would lov to go bak to KG and dance in front of Mrs.Wannabe Farah..She wont be impressed for sure!!

2)Time:Jan 18th-92
Place:Maternity ward of so
me hospital in Begumpet.
Ahh! this one's really close to my heart...Imagine a 5 yr old kid..loitering around the hospital trying to befriend other 5 yr olds in the vicinty and trying to bribe them into playing with him by showing off his "Uncle Chips"(that was a rage before Lays came in)ka packet..least bothered about the fact that he's here in a hospital with someone whos not really feeling well..He was in his own world jus like Calvin does in his virtual world...And then he hears a faint voice of his father crying out for him...asking him "dont you wanna see your younger sister?"...and there i run excitedly..into the maternity ward...you know the expression of a kid when hes promised something and when he gets it finally..he had that expression throughout the 10 sec run..So our hero finally makes it der...runs to his moms side and oh boy...what does he see!!
A tiny little thing wrapped up in a white towel, with cute little pink nose...chubby cheeks...those teeny weeny chinese eyes..small miniature hands which cupped my fingers whenever i held them...Oh..God..Wasnt she cute!!
"Arent we naming her Angitha..?"I ask in a affirmative tone...

Thats one image permanently etched onto my memory...should be the same for most of the elderly siblings, out here reading this :)

3) Time:Academic Year of 97-98
Place:Bhavans Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya Class-5C.

Huhhh!! What do Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Nagarjuna...Abhijit have in common(apart from the dancing skills i.e. ;) )????
Ha ha..like majority of the guys we have had our first crush on teachers...Well and its always somehow the English teachers..dont really know why it is so...Might b beacause english teachers always the sauve and sophisticated types which surely are very well regarded by intelligent and smart men like the ones above;)..
So here's introducing....
Miss.Mariamma Thomas..
Lovely eyes..Long hair..elengantly dressedin sarees..long nails with beautiful red nail polish on them..and the nimbleness with which she handles the kids...Complete package..Sad part...she left the school because she was all set to become Mrs.Mariamma Thomas..Some guys are just plain lucky..!!
Ok!! i guess i shall stop here.. before u judge me as a born pervert who used to eye a lady 15 yrs elder to him when he was all of 10 :)
Ahh!! Thats one face that always remain in my memory..MY FIRST CRUSH :)

4) Time:Farewell of Academic Year of 2003-2004
Place:Bhavans Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya Class-12A.

Well theres always an aura surrounding those best two years of my schooling..Have enjoyed the most in those 2 years..Ragged teachers big time..Got ragged by teachers big time too..Lovely set of frnds..who still are the thickest(pun unintended :D) of frnds..Nice set of seniors and juniors...(well some might beg to differ abt the juniors part though ;) ) Everything was perfect..Its so...hmmm...What do u say!!..Uhh....yes!! Revisitable..!!
U really want to invent a time machine to go back to those lovely times..It will be surely worth a reason to invent the Time machine..And the day it all ends..Will surely be painful for all of us..but ironically we still want to celebrate it..We come in best of our clothes..Its our first foray into big bad world..We are all set to lose our innocence..and we dress accordingly in formals..Trying to be all big and mature...But the heart is still just 17 yrs old.
Neway lets get ovr d senti part..After all the naach-gaana...khaana-peena in the farewell party..What do we do?? Normally we would go to our regular hangout place FABs..But dis time one of us had a Eureka moment and we all went to the beautiful water tank situated behind our school...For those who dont know abt it..It was a water tank on a hill..which gave you a nice view of the whole place and the most important aspect...the sunset...It gave a nice view of the sunset...And we happened to be der just arnd dat time...
The sunset, lovely set of friends..and the metaphorical setting of the sun equating it to our last day of daily interactions...the last page of a lovely chapter... and everyone eagerly awaiting to uncover the next chapters in our lives to see whats in store in the darkness of the night...And after all this, we know the sun always rises the next day giving us a brief opportunity to revisit the past...and it did rise...The last weekends trip to coorg brought the sunlight back into our lives..Diminished in numbers..might be...but the core essence still holds..Love you all guys..You are simply the best :)
So sunset+lovely set of friends+uncertainty in future=Superb Mental image!

5) Time:March 2010
Place:Prasads Multiplex-Screen-4

Now how can i write a blog on mental images and not mention the very image which inspired it...Duuh!!
The only reason i would watch Karthik Calling Karthik(KCK) would be for this one scene..I know that this is just an infatuation and would be very short lived..But kudos to the cinematographer(the D.O.P or cameraman for the laymen)...ya..he is the real reason for Deepika lookin so elan..Those eyes behind the camera surely has a finesse for beauty...The orange dim light shone against the slightly kohl rimmed eyes of deepika...those wonderful dimples...her flowy locks with curls...her elegant dress...her body slightly leaning against Farhan's...sitting on the couch(u lucky guy!!!!I so wish i could be u..)
Ah! just so perfect...Kudos to the director for visualizing the whole thing and kudos to the DOP to implement it..And lets not forget...most importantly...to inspire this post.

PS:So now that you reached till here(saz a lot abt ur patience..)Why dont u pour your heart in the comments section about what you feel(it could be anything..from your mental images to u being mental... ;) )
Let me try to be the pushy salesman types here..
"If you like the blog..How about following it...It gives you updates on my blogs and hosts of other features..Why dont you try!!"

Wohooo!! Pune Rocks...

Back after a short trip to Pune. So a travelogue kinds..I am not some Ibn-e-Batuta without his joota though..
For starters...awesome place must say..I never kind of understood this wiki meaning of
culture shock..But now i do!! But the Terrorists bhai log wanted another shot at fame, considering the way Kasab is treated it could be a natural career choice for many guys. They had some other plans for me.They kind of knew abt my plans of visitin the beautiful city so they had to welcome me with a "big bang". Well it doesn't help your case further when your mumbai bound train saz it wont go to pune. So there we go im stranded in some station in Maharashtra where by the way hindi is spoken only in Mumbai i believe. Neway i somehow manage to gather some info from the guy who was selling vada pavs at the station, he showed me a moving train in the next platform and told me dats d one. U better be running fast to catch it. For once the Vada pavs did distract me, but, No!! i had to reach pune, so sacrificed the vada pav. So here's this guy who just got up in a land unknown( to add up the gross factor..didnt my brush my teeth too) running after a train just like Kajol did in DDLJ. But hold on!!There were quite a few differences. Amrish puri was replaced by Vada Pavs,Im pretty sure Kajol would have brushed her teeth before running behind a moving train, and the biggest difference there was no SRK to hold on to my hand. Well.. thats what i thought..but na i had a "helping hand" at the right time...A Sardarji came to my rescue and played the SRK part(played it pretty well i must say). So i pass him a "Paaji tussi great ho!" He just shrugged and put his dhai kilo ka haath on my shoulders and said "Koi nahi yaar!!". Well thanks Sardar, thanks a ton if you are reading this. So finally reached pune..took a stroll at the great FC road and MG Road on the valentines day evng. For a foodie like me this is heaven..Try the bun maska n chai from goodluck cafe. Usually wen its food nothing really can distract me. But..dat wasnt the case at these roads..You have quite a few distractions...I was continously looking for a sign board which read something like "Wearing Salwaar on these roads are banned(violation of Article 362 of Indian Const.)", On a more serious note u would never see a girl in salwaar you find this heppy, cool, urbane, cosmopolitan crowd. Might be Pune being the Edu Hub has a lot to do with the crowd. Where else would you see a Girl in micro mini shorts window shopping on the roads?
But hang on..u see some other stuff too..When these same girls are driving a vehicle are transformed to this sleek hijab styled scarf(as in the pic. Those are surely prototype of pune girls..might be some school in pune) covering their whole face and only eyes to be seen..almost every girl does that..after all they have to be in touch with their conversationalist side at some point..Bcoz im sure its not d pollution which makes them do it..Well if it is..!!Then I guess dey wil have to wear a space suit if they are goin to places like Delhi,Kolkotta or for that matter Hyd too.
Well to sum it up...Superb city..Brimming with energy...Would love to come back soon.(Now thats the maximum u can extract of a die hard hyderabadi).
Chaoo...!!

MY FAILURES DONT DEFINE ME!!

Ok me back..!!
Did try my best to update my blog last week..But was working on something which would take time...A short story kinds..Ill surely put that up in a while..
Until then u have to bear with my roona dhoona sad ishtoryy on whom Pankaj "Udhas" could sing a melancholious ghazal(a tad bit exagerated) !!
Previous week has been bad...real bad!!It was kinda funny..seems like im not the destiny's child. This has always been my case..i get damn close to whatever i want to achieve but the final frontier is always unconquered, be it studies, work, ambitions or life in general..
So here i go..I work my a** off and get a "good" score..The whole world right from the clerk to the course director of my coaching insti told me i would get calls from the top b-schools of that particular university. But guess what!!
As always i end up at the wrong side...like a newbie desi on his L1 vizza driving his car on the roads in Amriicaaa..Complicated way to put it..i know!!
So i get my "good" score and the b-schools which i very eagerly wanted to get in- exercised the very principles and business models what they teach there. They wanted to take their own practical exam and wanted to see how good businessmen they are..
So what do they do, to mint money they arent really considering merit. They are counting on the desperate, recession afflicted,CAT tragedy struck people to buy in their Mangmnt seats.I guess its time to buy the Supper Lotto Lottery ticket, might b i could afford a seat if i win. But considering how "wonderfully" well my luck is supportin me, i shall keep the plans for some other day.
I guess they were kind of inspired by the new Burj-Dubai's (or kalifa..watevr it is) towering height, and said lets get our cut offs high up there, and who ends up at the top and gettin the seats, as we saw in the movie 2012. Its either cash strapped richie richs' or the knowledge rich nerds who can bore you to death. Sadly people like me are somewhere in the middle in both the departments. So we lose!!
But hey common..!!That's not the end of life..Some X,Y,Z dont decide on my state of mind- happy or sad..Its me who decides it!!
Life moves on..Some day the the creamy chocolate center will trickle out from the hard caramel exterior in the eclair of my life(ahh!! there i go about food again:D)

MY FAILURES DON'T DEFINE ME!!
