Wohooo!! Pune Rocks...

Back after a short trip to Pune. So a travelogue kinds..I am not some Ibn-e-Batuta without his joota though..
For starters...awesome place must say..I never kind of understood this wiki meaning of
culture shock..But now i do!! But the Terrorists bhai log wanted another shot at fame, considering the way Kasab is treated it could be a natural career choice for many guys. They had some other plans for me.They kind of knew abt my plans of visitin the beautiful city so they had to welcome me with a "big bang". Well it doesn't help your case further when your mumbai bound train saz it wont go to pune. So there we go im stranded in some station in Maharashtra where by the way hindi is spoken only in Mumbai i believe. Neway i somehow manage to gather some info from the guy who was selling vada pavs at the station, he showed me a moving train in the next platform and told me dats d one. U better be running fast to catch it. For once the Vada pavs did distract me, but, No!! i had to reach pune, so sacrificed the vada pav. So here's this guy who just got up in a land unknown( to add up the gross factor..didnt my brush my teeth too) running after a train just like Kajol did in DDLJ. But hold on!!There were quite a few differences. Amrish puri was replaced by Vada Pavs,Im pretty sure Kajol would have brushed her teeth before running behind a moving train, and the biggest difference there was no SRK to hold on to my hand. Well.. thats what i thought..but na i had a "helping hand" at the right time...A Sardarji came to my rescue and played the SRK part(played it pretty well i must say). So i pass him a "Paaji tussi great ho!" He just shrugged and put his dhai kilo ka haath on my shoulders and said "Koi nahi yaar!!". Well thanks Sardar, thanks a ton if you are reading this. So finally reached pune..took a stroll at the great FC road and MG Road on the valentines day evng. For a foodie like me this is heaven..Try the bun maska n chai from goodluck cafe. Usually wen its food nothing really can distract me. But..dat wasnt the case at these roads..You have quite a few distractions...I was continously looking for a sign board which read something like "Wearing Salwaar on these roads are banned(violation of Article 362 of Indian Const.)", On a more serious note u would never see a girl in salwaar you find this heppy, cool, urbane, cosmopolitan crowd. Might be Pune being the Edu Hub has a lot to do with the crowd. Where else would you see a Girl in micro mini shorts window shopping on the roads?
But hang on..u see some other stuff too..When these same girls are driving a vehicle are transformed to this sleek hijab styled scarf(as in the pic. Those are surely prototype of pune girls..might be some school in pune) covering their whole face and only eyes to be seen..almost every girl does that..after all they have to be in touch with their conversationalist side at some point..Bcoz im sure its not d pollution which makes them do it..Well if it is..!!Then I guess dey wil have to wear a space suit if they are goin to places like Delhi,Kolkotta or for that matter Hyd too.
Well to sum it up...Superb city..Brimming with energy...Would love to come back soon.(Now thats the maximum u can extract of a die hard hyderabadi).
Chaoo...!!

  1. Pune sure does rock. After 2 years in Dharamshal, 2 years in Pathankot, 7 years in Hyderabad, 2 years in Pune, 2 years in Mumbai n a couple of months in Ahm'bad; I have finally concluded that Pune rocks d most of all. Even though, given a slightest of chance, I wud run to Hyderabad (but dat was purely coz of other benefits)....
    well written buddy!
    keep writing.
